Reflexology is a wholly natural method of bringing about relaxation, balance and healing through the stimulation of specific points of the feet (or hands).  It is based on the concept that every part of the body is connected by energy pathways which end in reflex areas in the feet, hands or head.

Ancient Art
The ancient healing art of Reflexology has been known to man for many thousands of years.  It was first practised by the early Indian, Chinese and Egyptian peoples.

It is believed that Reflexology originated in China some 5,000 years ago. It is also believed to have been practiced in Persia, Tibet and India. Drawings showing the feet and hands being massaged and treated in a way that resembles Reflexology were discovered in the tomb of the an Egyptian physician dating back to 2330 BC (pic 1).

In other words, the body is mirrored in the feet.  Tension or congestion in any part of the body is reflected in the corresponding reflex areas of the feet.

By working these areas on the feet in a particular way, the reflexologist stimulates the body to achieve its own natural state of balance and good health.  Treating the whole foot in this way has a deeply relaxing and healing effect on the whole body.
